Not a math question! Can A & B, soulmates, get together without depending on old flames or wanna be flames?

A & B are obvious soulmates, have the common values, interests, and what it takes for a successful life together. A has several opposite sex friends who are extremely close, B has none, only mixes with friends of the same sex but unfortunately has some wanna be fellows pursuing her relentlessly. A keeps using his opposite sex friends to try to connect to B, meanwhile B’s ‘wanna be’ intervenes and easily corrupts, upsets every such effort, with A’s opposite sex friends happily cooperating to destroy the effort.
Clear as mud? What does B have to do?
